Summer Course in June

Venue: Strete Parish Hall, 1 Hynetown Rd, Strete, Dartmouth, TQ6 0RU.

Dates: Saturday 24th of June to Monday 26th of June inclusive.

Parking: In the Church car park next to the Hall or along the road. We will make a donation as a group for this.

Camping: Manor Farm, Strete, Dartmouth, Devon TQ6 0RU. The camp site is 5 minutes walk from the dojo. To book please contact Mrs Kate Gill by email: manorfarmstrete@hotmail.co.uk and mention you are part of the Aikido group.

Food: Tea and biscuits are provided. There is a village store and a pub.

Classes begin at 11am. Students are asked to be at the dojo, changed, and ready to train one hour before the beginning of the class.

New Dojo opening and an extra course

From July 24th, Sensei Jeremy and Sensei Nic will be teaching new classes in St Budeaux Parish Church Hall, Plymouth. It’s just off the A38, near the Tamar Bridge and has free parking right outside.

Classes will be open to all members from any club from 7-9pm on Mondays and there’ll be lessons for brown belt and above from 9-10pm.

To open the new Dojo, there will be a course on Sunday 23rd of July. More details will follow soon.

Buckfastleigh Course

Venue: Buckfastleigh Town Hall, Bossell Road, TQ11 0DD.

Date: Sunday 23rd April 2023

Parking: The is a public car park by the park and swimming pool from where the dojo is a two minute walk. 

Food: Tea and biscuits are provided but please bring your own food for lunch. There is a local shop but there may not be much time to get food during the lunch break. 

Classes begin at 11am and usually finish around 5pm. Students are expected to be at the dojo, changed, and ready to train at least one hour before the beginning of the class.

Dan Grade Course in Totnes

Lerryn Course- 12th February 2023

Sensei Richard and his students are welcoming us to their dojo.

Venue: Memorial Hall, Lerryn, PL22 0PT.

Date: Sunday 12th February 2023

Parking: in the public car park just by the hall.

Food: Tea and biscuits are provided but please bring your own food for lunch .There is a small village shop close by (with lots of pasties!), and there is also access to a kitchen.

Classes begin at 11am and usually finish around 5pm. Students are expected to be at the dojo, changed, and ready to train at least one hour before the beginning of the class.

Summer Course Dates

This year’s June course will be 3 days from the 24th to the 26th in Strete Parish Hall, near Dartmouth. Camping is at Manor Farm Campsite, 5 minutes walk from the hall.

The August course will be 5 days in The Coastal Zone at Downderry, near Looe from the 19th to the 23rd. Camping will be at Keveral Farm as usual.

Dates for your diary

Lerryn Club will be hosting a course on Sunday 12th of February and there’ll be a course in Buckfastleigh on Sunday 23rd of April. More details will follow nearer to the time. You can find details of all upcoming courses here: https://setsudo-ki-aikido.org/courses/

Dan Grade Course in Totnes

Venue: St. John’s Church, Bridgetown, Totnes, TQ9 5BU.
Dates: Saturday, 7th of January, 2023
Parking: There are some spaces around the back marked “St. John’s Church” which can be used. You can also park on the paved area at the front of the church but please don’t block access for pedestrians. 
Food: Tea and biscuits are provided but please bring your own food for lunch. We will book a table in the local pub for an evening meal for those who wish to join.

There will be an Executive Council meeting during the lunch break and all Dan Grades are welcome to attend. 

Liskeard Course 6th November 2022

Venue: The Liskerrett Community Centre, Varley Lane, Liskeard, Cornwall, PL14 4AP
Dates: Sunday 6th of November 2022
Parking: There is limited space in the Liskerrett car-park, and free parking on a Sunday in the neighbouring Market car park.
Food: Tea and biscuits are provided but please bring your own food for lunch. There are shops close by though there may not be much time in the lunch break to venture too far afield.

Classes begin at 11am. Students are asked to be at the dojo, changed, and ready to train one hour before the beginning of the class.
